What parents need to know

Parents need to know that the site has dozens of fun, free printable worksheets for kids to practice counting, coloring and other activities.

Is it any good?

WORKSHEETLAB offers more than 100 counting, coloring, and other activities, available as printable PDFs, for preschoolers and kindergarten-age kids. The site's design is very simple -- Worksheetlab doesn't even include an FAQ or any information about who created it -- but it's easy to use. You can sort the worksheets by category, theme, level, and activity type. The PDFs download quickly, and the worksheets provide a good mix of activities. Some are educational and will help kids practice counting and writing in uppercase letters; others are just-for-fun options like coloring pages and mazes.

Online interaction: Kids aren't given a chance to interact with other users on the site.

What families can talk about

  • Sites with free downloads can sometimes offer fun activities, like worksheets you can color on or learn from. But how do you know if something on a Web site is safe to download?

  • Should you ask a parent before you download anything from a Web site, even if it's free?

  • What kind of things shouldn't you download from Web sites?

Great for early learners
There are some great pages to print here. Although the concept pages are repetitive, so there isn't a lot of variety. But, it is different from other sites in its content.

Printing only
printable pages... not really interactive online activities. A good resource for 4-10 year olds... but not much to keep their interest.
