What parents need to know

Parents need to know that while "Sexy and I Know It" isn't the most explicit song out there, it does include somewhat steamy lyrics about a guy who likes to show off his super-toned body and one reference to being a "pimp." Not-so-subtle sexual references include "I got a passion in my pants" and "I'm in a Speedo trying to tan my cheeks."

  • Though the song is about sex appeal, it also encourages listeners to exercise and be fit.
  • The song is about staying in shape and being proud of your body.
  • Not applicable.
  • Some steamy lyrics about staring at a sexy bod: "I got a passion in my pants and I ain't afraid to show it...Girl, look at that body, I work out."

What's the story?

Electro-hop duo LMFAO strut their stuff on "SEXY AND I KNOW IT," the third single from their second album, Sorry for Party Rocking. In this club track, a buff guy describes all the ways that the ladies ogle his toned physique.

Is it any good?

The deep electro-beat of "Sexy and I Know It" gets under your skin, making your feet move the minute it hits your ears. Though the lighthearted vocals by LMFAO DJs Redfoo and SkyBlu are a little ridiculous, the song is still a shoe-in for regular club rotation.

Awesome song but bad lyrics for little kids.
This song is good for 12 year olds and up. Little kids (about 4 to 8) should not listen to this song because of it's lyrics.

Cleaner-than-average Club Song is all about showing off a hot body
Parents need to know that this club song is tamer than most other Hip-Hop/Pop Songs, aside from a few steamy lyrics and One use of "Pimp" and "A**" this song is OK for young teens. Messages:Positive 1/5 Although the song is pretty silly, there is a decent message about staying in good shape. Role Models:Positive 0/5 Although LMFAO are far from role models, they are starting to go a little cleaner, but still stay silly and fun. Violence:0/5 Not an issue Sex:2/5 The song is all about showing off a hot body so there are mentions of "sexy body's" and "Passion in my pants." Language:1/5 One use of "Pimp" and "A**". Consumerism:1/5 A mention of Bruce Lee and Speedo. Drinking,Drugs, and Smoking:0/5 Not an issue Is it any good:LMFAO has been known for their silly behavior and infectious club beats, luckliy it's improved here with a much catchy beat and better vocals.Expect to here plenty of repeats of this song all over the radio and in gyms!!
