Parents need to know that "Remind Me" is a country single about a couple who laments the loss of the early days in their relationship, when they literally couldn't keep their hands off each other. Though the song doesn't include profanity or very graphic sexual descriptions, it does get a bit steamy in parts. It's OK for older tweens and teens, though a little out of reach for younger tweens.
What's the story?
Two of the biggest names in country music -- Brad Paisley and Carrie Underwood -- come together in "REMIND ME," a song on Paisley's full-length album This is Country Music. The tune's premise is a couple who've been together for a while and long for the days when they first met -- a time where they were seriously hot and heavy for each other. While the song contains nothing super explicit in the way of language or sexual references, it still gets pretty suggestive in parts (especially for the typically wholesome Underwood). The song is too mature for younger kids but should be OK for older tweens and up.
Is it any good?
It's hard to criticize a vocalist like Underwood, who's good enough to make just about anything into a hit. Though Paisley has nowhere near her chops, he still has an appealing sound in the classic country vein, and the juxtaposition of the two makes for a catchy track overall.
What families can talk about
Families can talk about Carrie Underwood's move toward slightly more mature music with this song. The former American Idol winner has released squeaky-clean tunes so far. What may have motivated her to go a sexier route with this track?
