What parents need to know

Parents need to know that "Out of Summertime" is another clean country track from the 2011 American Idol winner, Scotty McCreery. The song offers no explicit language or other questionable content, simply describing two young teens who hit it off at a county fair but end up drifting apart when they go off to college. It's a classic puppy love song that young audiences will relate to.

What's the story?

"OUT OF SUMMERTIME" is the second wholesome song from Scotty McCreedy, the velvet-toned country crooner who took the 2011 American Idol crown. Just like his debut single, "I Love You This Big," this second track is a wholesome, sweet ode to young love that contains no questionable adult content or language. Though the song's resolution is somewhat bittersweet -- McCreedy parts with the object of his affection as both grow older and move on with their lives -- it's a perfectly acceptable choice for all of the Idol champ's young fans.

Is it any good?

McCreedy's great pipes once again shine through on this tune, backed by the slide guitar and country arrangements that are the hallmarks of the country sound. Though the song likely won't go down in the record books, it's sure to get plenty of airplay on the country radio waves.

MY SHORT REPORT
Scotty McCreery is a 17 year old boy, from North Carolina. He sings country music, and won American Idol in late May. He sings Out Of Summertime, and his song is number 32 on the bill board top 100 country music chart. He signed to Interscope Records, has sold 32,000 records in all, is number 3 on the US country chart, 12 in all US charts and is number 21 in Canada. In my opinion, scotty shouldn't have won. He is not as talented as the others because he can only sing country. i thought James Durbin should have won. but as a country singer he is clean, good for kids, and is a entertaining spirit.
