What parents need to know

Parents need to know that "Mr. Know It All" is a clean track from American Idol darling Kelly Clarkson. There's no explicit content or language; instead, the song focuses on its inspiring message about ending a relationship with someone who's not treating you respectfully. The song is a good choice for young kids who are just starting to build their self-confidence and navigate romantic relationships.

What's the story?

"MR. KNOW IT ALL" is the first single from Stronger, the fifth full-length album by Kelly Clarkson -- winner of American Idol's kick-off season. Known for her largely inoffensive lyrics, Clarkson keeps it clean here and adheres to a positive message about never settling for second best in a relationship: "Well ya like to bring me down don't ya, but I ain't laying down, baby, I ain't going down / Can't nobody tell me how it's gonna be ... Baby you should know that I lead not follow."

Is it any good?

Clarkson is one of the most successful Idol alums, and for good reason: She has fantastic pipes, which she shows off in this track. The catchy synth-pop hook doesn't obscure her excellent vocal range, resulting in a tune with an exceptional all-around sound.

Mr. Know It All
Mr. Know it All is alright. Kelly Clarkson is an excellent singer, though. The music is catchy but the lyrics get a little repetitive. This song is about leaving a relationship in which the other person acts like they know everything you want and need. It has better messages in it than most breakup songs.
