What parents need to know

Parents need to know that Hold on 'Til the Night is an overall clean album by young singing sensation Greyson Chance. That said, they shouldn't expect another Justin Bieber; while these lyrics don't contain profanity or references to sex, substances, or drinking, they're also not as bright and sunny as Bieber's. By exploring the more painful side of romance in several songs, Chance sets a somewhat more pensive tone than many of his tween contemporaries.

What's the story?

HOLD ON 'TIL THE NIGHT is the debut album from Greyson Chance -- the young teen vocalist who took the Internet by storm with his rendition of Lady Gaga's hit "Paparazzi." The ten original songs have largely wholesome lyrics in common, but that doesn't mean they're particularly upbeat. Instead, several tracks explore the darker side of romantic relationships, with lyrics that seem melancholy beyond Greyson's years: "I tried my hardest, I tried my best / But you just don't seem satisfied / And now I'm here alone tonight, when I think of you, I cry." Still, it's an overall OK pick for tweens and teens looking for another cute young vocalist to love.

Is it any good?

Listening to the strength behind the vocals on this record, it's hard to believe Greyson Chance was a mere 13 years old when he recorded it. The teen is every bit as talented as his oft-cited peer, Justin Bieber, with a bouncier pop sound that shines through on songs like "Little London Girl" and "Unfriend You."

I LOVE YOU GREYSON CHANCE!!!!!
Amazing. I love Greyson. I met him at the meet and greet after a concert, and I told him about how I got eye surgery recently, and as I was telling him this, he was holding my hand, and he said, "Oh my gosh, are you okay?" He was so sweet and caring. I hugged him, and kissed him on the cheek :) I have a signed tshirt now :) im going to another concert this month, i hope to meet him agin! I love this album because it has such complex emotion in it that makes the songs so powerful and great.

OMG I AM SICK OF JUSTIN BIEBER BEING COMPARED TO EVERYONE. Great album from Greyson, though.
I don't know what Justin Bieber is doing here. This is GREYSON CHANCE. He is a young pop/rock artist and pianist with remarkable talent. And no, they don't both have "super strong vocals", only Greyson does. Justin Bieber just has a nice voice, nothing special. I'm not hating on him 'cause Justin Bieber does have talent, but please, listen to Greyson's Paparazzi and you'll see how powerful his voice is compared to Bieber's. This is a really good album and both adults and teens can listen to it. A couple of songs are kinda depressing, though. But that's what music is about. To make you feel emotions and be able to relate to it.

Amazing Album!
I love this CD. Amazing, beautiful songs. My favorites are "Slipping Away" and "Heart Like Stone", but I love them all. Some songs are sad, sure, but this is an amazing, totally appropriate album!
