What's the story?

COOL KIND KID is an award-winning album from the educational curriculum Tanner’s Manners that teaches social skills and good character values for kids, in addition to helping them combat bullying at school and build self-esteem. The 17 original tracks teach kids how to be “cool” and “kind” with upbeat music and lessons that they won’t forget.

Is it any good?

Without being too preachy, Cool Kind Kid uses mixes of bluesy and country rock to teach kids about what it means to be a kind, decent human being. This album puts basic manners in the spotlight in a way that kids will enjoy, dance to, and, above all, embrace.

What families can talk about

  • Families can talk about what it means to be a bully. Have you ever known someone who acts like a bully? How does it make you feel? What can you do about it?

  • Can you give examples of what a bully might say or do? What is cyberbullying?

  • Do you practice good manners at home and at school? Do you think kids are becoming too involved with computers, the Internet, and texting, and forgetting what it means to interact with people face-to-face?
