Parents need to know that Run Roo Run is a platform game made by the team behind the education puzzle game Scribblenauts. While the learning aspects are missing here, the game is still quite family friendly, with no real violence to speak of, nor any language or sexual concerns. Users can share high scores via the Game Center social network, but participation is optional.
RUN ROO RUN isn't a complicated game, nor is it an especially deep one, but it sure is a heck of a lot of fun to play. Made by the same team that developed Scribblenauts, the game slowly introduces new abilities and obstacles, but ultimately, it's all about timing -- and the further you go, the harder it gets to master.
Rather than overcomplicating things, the game is controlled simply by tapping on the screen. And this minimalism is the app's biggest strength, meaning you're able to play instantly and never get frustrated along the way. Nearly as smart is the instant reset when you fail a level (doing away with the interstitial screens so many other games force you to watch again and again). It's cute, family friendly and a buck you'll be happy you spent.
