Parents need to know that The Price is Right Decades is a nostalgia-fueled game that mirrors the popular television game show. While some products are mentioned by their brand name, most are generic. Players play the mini-games shown on air, like Plinko and the Showcase Showdown. Users can share high scores via the Game Center social network, but participation is optional.
While playing the TV show's numerous mini-games is fun, the truly interesting part of THE PRICE IS RIGHT DECADES is the show's twist on time travel. Players play the game in different time periods and have to guess what an item would cost then. For example, a camcorder in the early 1980s was a lot more expensive than it is today, while cars were a lot less pricey. It's about the only part of the game that really taxes your brain.
While the game is perfectly suited for die-hard fans of the show, it's ultimately a by-the-numbers version that doesn't hold your attention for long periods. (And not having Bob Barker around is particularly noticeable, given the emphasis on the show's history). Casual fans will shrug their shoulders and find themselves moving on to the next app at a pretty fast pace.
