Parents need to know that KidCalc Kwanzaa is essentially the same app as the KidCalc 7-in-1 Math Fun app but with a bit of holiday theme injected into the background. Some of the math games are good, and it's helpful that there are so many settings. The Kwanzaa-related images on this app include a flag, drums, candles, and a gift. The background borders are also changed to Kwanzaa colors. The photos in the counting puzzle remain the same as in the non-holiday KidCalc app.
KIDCALC KWANZAA provides some basic math games, and can help kids practice some basic math skills. But don't expect any overwhelmingly detailed Kwanzaa-related games and activities directly associated with the holiday. It's really just images of the holiday theme tacked onto the basic math games from the original app, along with a Kwanzaa-colored border. For kids to really enjoy and make use of this app, the many settings must be adjusted to their age and expectations of how a game will function.
The number tracing activity is disappointing in that it allows kids to trace incorrectly without giving corrective feedback. And the toddler voice, while cute, models pronunciation incorrectly; the adult voices are a better option.
