Parents need to know that KidCalc Christmas Math is essentially the same app as the KidCalc 7-in-1 Math Fun app but with a bit of holiday theme injected into the background. Some of the math games are good, and it's helpful that there are so many settings. There are several themes that can be turned off or on in the settings, so players can limit the theme to Christmas if they choose at this time of year. That said, it needs to be limited manually or all holiday themes show up, and the number tracking game does not always display the chosen theme. The Christmas-related icons on this app are not religious, but rather mainstream American cultural images that kids associate with the holiday, such as candy canes and gifts.
KIDCALC CHRISTMAS MATH FUN provides some basic math games, and can help kids practice some basic math skills. But don't expect any overwhelmingly detailed Christmas-related games and activities directly associated with the holidays. It's really just images of the holiday theme tacked onto the basic math games from the original app. For kids to really enjoy and make use of this app, the many settings must be adjusted to their age and expectations of how a game will function.
The number tracing activity is disappointing in that it allows kids to trace incorrectly without giving corrective feedback. And the toddler voice, while cute, models pronunciation incorrectly.
