What parents need to know
Parents need to know that Injini: Child Development Game Suite is a set of 10 educational games, thoughtfully designed for preschoolers through early elementary age children. Each game has nine difficulty levels, which kids can progress through gradually or, with help from parents, skip ahead to find a fun challenge. The games introduce and reinforce concepts about letters, numbers, shapes, and colors, and these concepts are woven in with motor and logic skills like matching, sequencing, patterns, and tracking moving objects. The hefty price of this app makes it most appropriate for educators investing in multiple children at a range of ability levels.
Is it any good?
INJINI is an excellent app at a less-than-excellent price. The app has a tremendous amount to offer, particularly for educators working with multiple kids at multiple ability levels. The graphics are almost universally well-done and smooth, although most (but not all) of the people or body parts shown are white. This app has the potential to really teach kids, rather than just giving them a tool for learning. The hefty price seems comparable to what you might pay for all of these games in board form, and their thoughtful educational design makes them stand out from other games. Still, with other apps like Bugs and Buttons out there with similar philosophies but remarkably lower prices, it's hard to justify the cost.

Try Injini Lite Before Making the Investment
Here’s a little bit more information for folks interested in trying out Injini before making the investment.
Injini lite is available and includes 8 of the 10 games and players can complete up to 3 levels. If you have a child that’s 18 months old to 2 years of age, you will get a lot of play with the lite version of Injini.

With updates, Injini includes new games in the toy box. For example, Injini Letters was included in the latest update. So while Injini includes 10 games today, there are more on the way. ;-)
One more thing to note is that Injini offers meaningful play to young children, especially toddlers and preschoolers with cognitive, language, and fine motor delays. The games were developed by early childhood experts and tested with children with autism, cerebral palsy, Down syndrome and various developmental delays, as well as typically developing preschoolers - they love it too!
We play a lot of Injini at our house. My 5 year old with fine motor delays plays Injini to help develop her fine motor skills and I do not think that she would have progressed as quickly as she has done without it. Along with occupational therapy, we have tried other apps but my daughter will continually go back to Injini because of the fun factor and high level of quality. As for my 18 month old, she enjoys it too because of Injini’s unique level system that provides just the right amount of fun and challenge based on her skill level. Yes, even my husband likes to sheer the sheep. Injini is fun for the whole family.
