What parents need to know

Parents need to know that Candy Train is a suspenseful and fast-paced -- but completely kid-friendly -- puzzle game. As a train moves around the screen, you need to quickly rearrange the track in front of it in order to make sure it never hits a dead end. You can pick up giant candies and sweets for bonus points. And as the game goes on, more cars will be added, lengthening the train and adding to the challenge.

    This is a very simple game to learn and the controls are quite easy to use. There are two different difficulty levels, and within those levels, you can change the speed of the train to fast or slow.

    If the train reaches a dead end, you see the word "crash!" appear over it.

Is it any good?

 

CANDY TRAIN is a great example of a simple concept executed to near perfection. This is certainly not the only app game in which you switch railroad tracks around in order to keep a train moving, but the adorable Candyland-esque visuals, super-simple controls, and smooth, gradual increase in difficulty make this one of the best of its ilk. It also has one extra great feature: the game clearly telegraphs trouble spots ahead, highlighting safe track in pink and placing big exclamation points at potential crash sites. It's user-friendly, incredibly addictive, and can be equally enjoyed by both kids and parents.
