What parents need to know

Parents need to know that WWE 12 is a simulation of the World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE). Players choose between several wrestlers and lead them to a championship title. Since this is wrestling, prepare to see some violence in the form of body slams, punches, and kicks -- with some blood. The game is also playable online, so players may be exposed to unwanted conversations and inappropriate language.

  • Wrestlers break down into good guys and bad guys, but all conflicts are resolved through violent means.
  • There are both good guys and villains. However, most confrontations are sorted out inside the ring.
  • This is a very easy game to pick up. Players have access to a Grapple and Strike button, as well as a third input for Signature moves and Finishers. The lone downside is the lack of a detailed tutorial.
  • Players perform a variety of slams, punches, and kicks to take down opponents. Sometimes, blood is shown on a wrestler, but with little detail.
  • Most of the female wrestlers dress in provocative clothing.

What's it about?

In WWE 12, players control one of several wrestlers in World Wrestling Entertainment and guide him to a championship title. They can also create their own brawler to lead to victory. The game features modes such as Road to Wrestlemania, a story-based action option, and WWE Universe to run through a schedule of wrestling events.

Is it any good?

The overhaul of WWE 12 seems to have benefited the series, although it could use some tweaks. The presentation and graphics are sharp. The simpler controls help breathe life into the series, but executing the Reversal move is very tough compared to last year's game. Fortunately, between the easier controls, improved presentation, and impressive depth, WWE 12 is a solid wrestling title.

What families can talk about

  • Families can talk about how the video game compares to real-world wrestling.

  • WWE is a violent sport, how does the violence in this game compare to what you see in real life?

Its beast
This game is the best. Played it at best buy. Ordering it tonight. I love it. Best game ive seen in a while for the wii. Fighting is the name of the game. So if you don't like fighting or hand to hand combat this is not the game for you. Its beast.

AWESOME but fine for kids
It is a awesome game the cover and the teen rating are not a good reputatoin of the game it is a perfectly fine game for kids and if your a parent who thinks its wrong actually watch the game yourself. It is a KID game not a TEEN game a teen or adult could play it but dont be fooled by the esrb and there ratings . My friends dad takes him to see WWE games all the time so dont be whiny about this its just wresteling so dont be a jerk about it
