Parents need to know that Might & Magic Heroes VI is a real-time strategy game, a dying breed but one that remains popular among the most seasoned gamers. This kind of game is notoriously challenging because it requires such focus and strategy that only a truly dedicated player will be able to succeed. This game contains warfare involving humans and creatures with nonstop attacks between the two sides, though during real-time combat this depiction is almost always zoomed out and not the focus of attention. There are some cutscenes, however, that depict close-range violent content. There are also some instances of profanity and sexual innuendo in the dialogue.

    This game revolves around an epic, magical war in a fantastical world filled with humans, humanoid creatures, and giant animals. Players are fighting on the "good" side of the war, though the lines between good and bad may sometimes seem blurred.

    There are literally hundreds of characters in this game, both on the player's side and the enemy side. As such, very few ever stand out in any sense, much less as strong role models. The spirit in which everyone fights, though, clearly believing in their respective cause, has some impact even though they are carrying out violent acts.

    The real-time strategy genre is well known for being intensely challenging. Players need to manage troops of soldiers and send them out in an all-out warfare against an unending hoard of enemy combatants. This game requires strong strategy and unwavering focus in order to fully succeed. This game is designed for veteran players, not novice gamers.

    In this battle game, players use magical attacks with colorful bursts and explosions, and engage in hand-to-hand combat and close-range scuffles. This is a real-time strategy game, which means players must be extremely focused on their strategy and execution of attacks through a series of menus. Rarely will they have a chance to focus on the specific depictions of violence during the real-time combat. However, there are cutscenes that have more intense violent content such as zoomed-in videos of fantastical soldiers being punched or stabbed.

    There are some suggestive comments and innuendo in the game's extensive dialogue, including one line of a character saying he was sold to a rapist.

What's it about?

MIGHT & MAGIC HEROES VI puts players in a fantastical world called Ashan. When players aren't battling hordes of enemy troops and figuring out the most cogent war strategy, they must build cities, explore the environment, and keep everything as strong and updated as possible. There are many factors to keep in check and it makes the game suitable for only the most dedicated players.

Might & Magic Heroes VI is the latest in the long-running real-time strategy (RTS) series. The storied franchise has a strong and loyal following, but has historically been focused on catering to the hardcore gaming crowd. RTS games are known for being difficult, time-consuming, and mentally challenging. That said, those gamers who are dedicated enough will find this to be an ultimately rewarding experience with great visual effects. The slew of options for battle strategy and city building will be a delight to the select audience that can truly enjoy the game. It isn't for everyone, but those players for whom this game is designed will likely thoroughly enjoy it.
